Daily Math Number of the Day
What is a daily number activity?
This is an important daily lesson to reinforce math language and skills taught throughout the school year. Then, when students must recall or apply any formerly taught skills or language, they have had frequent practice in all skills. As the year progresses introducing more math words and concepts, students will develop fluency and application skills in spiral fashion consistently adding what they have learned to new concepts.
Why do this activity?
- experience math success on a daily basis
- receive daily reinforcement and use of a wide variety of math skills
- make connections to new and already introduced concepts
- become fluent in math language, concepts, and symbols
